UPSC CSAT Results 2014 Candidates who are eagerly waiting for the results of Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2014, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), can expect it in the coming 10 days. The examination was conducted on August 24. Last year, it was held in May.
Going by the trends followed previous year, the results this year are expected in the second week of October. The civil services examinations are held for preliminary selection of candidates for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The second phase of selection consists of Mains written examination and a personality test, which make up a final result.
However, no official notice has been announced by the examination committee regarding the declaration of results for examination held in August. Candidates can check results from the official website www.upsc.gov.in as and when it is out.
Around 4.5 lakh candidates appeared for the preliminary examination which consisted of two papers. The paper was objective in nature, which tested candidates in areas of General Studies and General Aptitude.
Candidates getting shortlisted in the prelim examination will qualify for the main examination to be held on December 14, 2014. The final merits for qualifying the candidates for the civil services (mains) written examination will be drawn by using the aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I out of 200 marks and marks obtained in Paper-II out of 200 marks minus the maximum marks allocated to the questions on English language comprehension skills (i.e. those questions in Paper-II for which Hindi translation has not been given).
