Telangana State IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday (26 may) Launched Free WiFi Secunderabad railway station on this occasion minister said the City of Pearls would turn into a WiFi hub.

On Tuesday, Secunderabad railway station became the first in South Central Railway and the sixth across the Indian Railways to offer free WiFi to passengers for a half an hour duration, after Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, New Delhi and Varanasi.
The facility was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya in the presence of Mr. Rama Rao and SCR General Manager P.K. Srivastava.
Passengers can avail this free internet service for first 30 minutes and from the 31st minute charges will be applicable as per usage.
Users can access WiFi on all the 10 platforms including the concourse area through strategically commissioned 96 wireless access points. The facility is accessible on smartphones/tablets/laptops (with WiFi).
