Wipro chairman Azim Premji, who met Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday evening, promised to expand the company’s projects in the newly formed Telangana state.
Mr KCR expressed confidence that Telangana will become a destination for several national and international institutions to set up their units as the TRS government is committed to introduce a single window system for granting various clearances besides adopting a zero-corruption and 100 per cent transparent policy.
“My government’s endeavour is to see that Hyderabad becomes an IT hub in the near future,” Mr Rao informed Mr Premji.
IT minister K.T. Rama Rao, who was also present in the meeting, informed the Wipro chairman that the government was contemplating converting Hyderabad into a 4G Wi-Fi city soon. He also said that the government was committed to bringing in more IT parks in Telangana to ensure IT-related employment opportunities to locals.
The Chief Minister said that once the government finalises the new industrial policy, he would convene another meeting with the Wipro chairman.
